Chapter 40

Day 175

I invited Darreth over to celebrate Brendan and Bronte's birthdays.

Brendan inherited my hair and eye color.

Bronte has Darreth's hair color, but my eye color.

And then it was time for that "Let's just be friends" speech. It went about as well as expected.

Day 176

"Winter is coming."

I resurrected my old notes and started writing "Single Parenting" again.

Aiden aged up to a teen with the trait: Clumsy

Avery Rose aged up with the trait: Party Animal.

I had received a flyer in the mail today. The clothing store has received a new shipment of clothing called "Date Night." I was overdue a makeover anyway. I drove to the salon.

I took a walk through town after my makeover and I spotted something yummy.

Nick Raimer is in a relationship with Shiloh. But I had an itch that needed to be scratched, so I didn't let that stand in my way.

Nick and I walked over to the theater for a "backstage tour."

Day 177

Darreth came by. I don't think he's handling our breakup very well.

I invited him to come in and hang out for a while.

With Aiden and Avery Rose helping with the toddlers skills, I decided to escape the house for a short while. I called Nick and asked him to meet me at Hotfoot's.

Brooke decided to reward herself for making the honor roll by adopting the stray dog that was periodically showing up on our front porch. She named her Molly. Molly appears to be a Dalmatian and Dachshund mix.

Maybe it was because we are both Hopeless Romantics. But the evening quickly spun out of control. The impulsive side of me decided to leap into the unknown. I asked Nick to dump Shiloh.

And then the next thing I knew, I was standing under a wedding arch in a brightly light wedding chapel in Hotfoot's Casino saying "I do."

I promptly celebrated my marriage by getting sick to my stomach.

I don't think it was nerves from marrying a man that I had known for less than twenty-four hours.

I took my new husband home with me. All of my children were tucked into bed. And my ex-love interest was still at my house playing on the computer. This was taking awkward and uncomfortable to a whole new level.

Day 178

I decided to treat myself to a trip to the spa. Nick decided to join the Architectural Design Profession. The kiddos just hung around the house.

I wrapped up the toddler skills training and we ordered pizza for dinner.

Day 179

Brendan aged up to a child with the Ambitious trait.

Bronte aged up with the new trait: Family-Oriented.

We had a wonderful relaxing Sunday.

At the end of the day, I was relaxing in the living room with Nick when I went into labor.

Just after 1AM I gave birth to a son and I named him Dante. Dante was born with the traits: Brave and Evil.
